What is Turkey GovCamp?

GovCamp Turkey focuses on positioning government as a platform to engage key sectors of a country to come together in one conference and to jointly collaborate on how to improve citizen engagement and services using technology. With the proliferation of digital natives, there is an increasing expectation from the general public and new tension created in the public sector to respond faster and more efficiently to citizen concerns. The core of the event is the attendee-generated agenda, content, and feedback done through crowd-sourcing in an open and transparent process. Active participation using social media tools and Web 2.0 technologies plays a critical role in stimulating engagement from all participants.

Themed “Connecting People, Data and Ideas”, it drives two pillars of Engagement, and Open data as a platform for Co-creation respectively. The GovCamp Turkey will bring together leading thinkers from government, academia, industry and citizens organizations to share Gov 2.0 initiatives and ideas for Turkey Government transformation, which will be well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the digital age.

GovCamp Turkey initiates meaningful relationships across all areas of civil society with the common goal of promoting and enhancing Turkey digital credentials.

  Open data affords extraordinary opportunities for co-creation as individuals and organizations add to base data often data collected by governments to add individual and local experience, details, and feedback. Co-creation makes open data truly dynamic, rich and customized. Today's governments are challenged to develop greater collaborative capacity internally to break down silos that prevent shared informational and problem solving across programs and units.
